When I was a mechanic at Beach Ford in Myrtle Beach, S.C., I got the nickname...

So as described on page 1 (link above to page 1), this is how my Savage X looked for a while when I broke it down after a rough day of bashing :)

Titanium Spur Gear, Dual Stainless Steel Brakes, Titanium Transmission Shaft

Temporary fix - pinned to "on" position. Problem is, when I slam into the ground from 15 feet, it jarrs to the "off position" - sometimes at WOT!

Integy 4mm TVP matches up nicely

Integy 4mm TVP has a higher center of gravity though...

Integy 4mm TVP, no detail unmastered...

Integy TVP

Integy TVP

Throttle actuator bolts up nicely to the new TVP...

Same length chassis...just thicker (and prettier :)

Just for reference sake...

Lines up nicely

See the differencein the Center of Gravity?

Reminiscent of my dirtbike apart in my kitchen when I was younger hehe...

Starting to come together...

and another angle

There's Bill's Dubro Bolt on top there - replacing the "pin" that comes in the Savage X from the factory (that will come out on you)

Nova Racing Motor Mount - 4 way adjustable - WAY easier to set the spur gear mesh. Double springed the exhaust header

Doing the Losi LST Shock Mod - Waiting on the Kit to come out at the end of April 2006 which is specifically for the HPI Savage X

Here it is with Nubz - I think it's kinda squirrelly with the nubz on there, so I'm exploring my options. Probably going to the 23mm hub setup

Another shot with the nubz dubz on there :)

This is a shot of the Ofna Throttle/Brake Modification. All parts are shown on page 1

The other side of the Ofna Throttle Mod. Also a shot of the aluminum throttle actuator

Some posing pics :)

How Corny Right :)

grrrrrrr!

I like this shot...

Front View - notice the Zip Ties on the Suspension - ask me why and I'll tell ya

another pic of the zippy ties on the suspension - Oh, the springs are from New Era - they're actually the same as the stock black springs, just chrome

Werks Pipe for the Collari .32 - works fine with my OS .30 VG and sounds quieter than the HPI Ribbed Exhaust Pipe I had on there...

Ran the fuel lines pretty much the way they were when the X was out of the box

Werks Pipe...

Integy Side Braces - ULTRA ridgid for bashing

Ahh...my favorite...the Stainless Steel Tierods and Turnbuckles. Bling Bling!

Heavy Duty Diff Cups

Nova Racing Motor Mount

Dubro Inline Fuel Filter and Dubro Clips

Serious Mojo LOL :) - Hex Head Allen Screws Throughout. I dunno...think the fuel line will buffer those shock bolts from scuffing the radio box?

Stock Savage X Shock Towers

Hot Bodies "max travel" CVD Driveshafts front and back

Fuel line runs through bottom...

Racer's Edge Servo Horn, Hitec 645 Steering Servo

HD Cups...

Stock Savage X Bellcrank and Servo Saver with BEARINGS instead of bushings...haven't broken it yet!

grrrrrr!

Side view...

bla bla...

Fuel tank is hard as a rock, but the shelf in there, I think, is contributing to a 1/2 tank lean issue I seem to be having...

put some padding on there so the shock tower would not hit it so hard. On impact, the shock tower flexes backwards - I've broken 2 stock X tanks.

Bling Bling! To get the Throttle Rod through there, I had to torch it and bend it in

Ofna Throttle Mod for Savage Close Up

Just threw on some fuel line everywhere...

Stainless tierod

spur top view

Spektrum DX3 Transmitter Radio Receiver needs very little antenna.

front

front

Some Little Girl's Flippity flop shoe LOL - shoe goo works wonders

flip flop piece on front, protecting from shocks

kinda ugly under there

Some hair brained idea of mine to strengthen the body mount hole there...shoe goo and wire...will improve on this soon

stress point...

Body Reamer - maybe need more holes in Summer, will see

Hex Heads!

I've had that sticker for like 20 years and always wanted to use it somewhere...now what to do with the huge Holley Carburetor Sticker :)

Integy Braces look Sweet I think...
